To carry out our article we are going to classify our recommendations in a simple way, according to the type of video game that we can play and according to the economic budget that the player has.
Table of Contents
Types of Gaming Peripherals for Beginners to Buy
We are going to start recommending the peripherals that can best adapt to your style of play depending on the type of video games you are going to play. And then our recommendation will be based on your economic budget.
-
MOBA-type games
If you are a player mainly of MOBA-type games such as League of Legends, Heroes of Storm, DOTA 2 or Smite, you need speed and therefore the peripherals that we are going to recommend are the ones that can give you the most speed during the game, since there are certain specific moments in the game that is where you play everything, achieving victory or ending up defeated.
For this reason, we recommend that you purchase a laser mouse (with several programmable buttons) and a membrane keyboard if your budget is limited.
You have many brands that offer a good quality/price ratio to which you can go to purchase this type of product, such as Mars Gaming or Genesis.

If your budget is higher, we still recommend the laser mouse, but the mechanical keyboard. Be careful when choosing a mechanical keyboard as there are various types of switches and colors.
Our recommendation to play this type of game is the blue (or green) and brown type switches in this order, since they are the which have the fastest pulse.
Regarding which brand to buy, the top ones with the best product are currently, in this order, Corsair Gaming and Razer. A brand that has just released a very spectacular and high-quality mechanical keyboard is Sound Blaster X.
As for which mat and headset to buy, our recommendation for both cases is that the headset be stereo or higher (5.1 or 7.1), since we do not need surround sound when playing and it simply depends on our economic capacity.
The speedy type mat, since thanks to its sliding surface, the mobility of the mouse and its speed increase considerably. Choose the ones that seem most comfortable to you and that fit into your budget.
-
SHOOTER type games
If you are a shooter-type player and you are going to play the new Call of Duty, Battlefield or Over watch, you need precision when playing, especially when aiming and moving while aiming.
So here the budget you have to spend it is a little higher, since yes or yes we are going to recommend a mechanical keyboard, which are always more expensive than membrane ones, but the difference in quality during the game is abysmal.

Whether you have more or less budget, we recommend a mechanical keyboard and an optical mouse. But when choosing the type is where, we can save a few Dollars.
If you have more budgets, we always recommend that you buy mechanical keyboards with Cherry MX keys, for quality and precision.
As for the type of mechanical keyboard, we recommend Black and Red type pushbuttons (in that order) and our recommendation is due to the hardness of the key, which will make our keystrokes, and therefore our movements in the game, more precise.
As for the brands and as we have commented in the MOBA section, we recommend Corsair and Razer mechanical keyboards.
And before starting with the mat, which deserves a special section in this game, we always recommend buying a precision mouse pad.
The marks are usually called CONTROL and it allows us to have more precision when moving and aiming with the mouse.

This precision is achieved thanks to the friction caused by the textured surface of the mat against the surfaces of our gaming mouse, allowing us to have greater control of our aim during the game.

Sound is Essential in a Shooter
Listening to where your opponents are going to attack you is very essential. Hence, the purchase of a 5.1 surround sound headset, or failing that, a 7.1, is almost mandatory.
The difference between both models is that 5.1 sounds give us real audio, since it mounts several speakers in each ear cup that allows us to have an immersive feeling in the game.
With a 7.1 headset, the sensation is similar, although there is a loss of quality, since the sound is virtual or emulated through software. Even so, it is always better than a stereo headset for this type of game.
At this point we have it clear, currently the best products if we have a higher budget are: Creative Sound Blaster X and Corsair Gaming, while if we do not have as many funds, we can go to Thunder X3 as a medium-high range, with products of a lot of quality.

MMO-type Games
MMORPG -type games are massively multiplayer role-playing video games and the most popular are World of Warcraft, Tera, The Elders Scrolls Online, Guild Wars 2 and Final Fantasy XIV.
These are games in which we need peripherals that allow us to record macros and have easy and quick access to them, since we play everything in PVP (Player VS Player) or in our confrontations against npc.
There are both membrane and mechanical keyboards that allow us to save macros in special hotkeys.
The most important thing at this point, more than the number of dedicated special keys that the keyboard has for it, is the software that it uses. Razer has spectacular software to give an example, although there are many brands that also have it.

The only recommendation we give at this point is that you look for a software that is easily adapted to you (it is very subjective) and if you don’t like it, return the keyboard and get another one that is easily adapted to your way of playing.
It is also interesting that the keyboard has a wrist rest so that you have greater comfort when playing and spending many hours in front of your PC.
As for the mouse, it has a multitude of buttons with programmable macros. Here are some examples that we recommend in order of price (from highest to lowest): Razer Naga Chroma, Corsair Scimitar PRO, GX85MMO, and MM4.
Both the mat is worth with a mid-range or standard surface. The same goes for headphones, we use stereo ones.
As an important fact when buying a mechanical keyboard if we have tight budgets, we inform you that companies like Mars Gaming bring out low-cost RGB mechanical keyboards (MK4) at around $35-40. A good option if we want a backlit mechanical keyboard to play.
Our recommendation in optical mice is the Razer Death adder if we go to top products, but if we don’t have that much budget we can look at optical mice from 3200 DPI and that have at least two programmable side buttons to be able to carry our secondary weapons in draw fast and to the point.
